In late 2023, I was honored to work with DVV International Cambodia, a leading organization in adult education and lifelong learning. Based in Phnom Penh, this short-term yet intense project showed me a different rhythm of work, but with the same purpose: to uplift communities.
The Mission
DVV’s mission is to build education systems that serve everyone—including rural populations and disadvantaged groups. My task was to produce a promotional video showcasing their outreach, partnerships, and the human stories behind their programs.
Filming in classrooms, talking to teachers, and following mobile learning initiatives gave me a broader picture of the educational landscape in Cambodia. One moment that touched me was watching a teacher travel hours by motorbike just to reach a group of students in a remote village.
Creative Process
The project was fast-paced, requiring adaptability and precision. I worked with local staff and DVV’s media team to plan shooting days and interviews. I edited the final videos using Final Cut Pro, drawing from natural light and real sound to preserve authenticity.
Reflections
This project reminded me that meaningful content doesn’t need grand setups—it needs empathy, clarity, and connection. DVV’s work inspired me to dig deeper into how education transforms lives.
